Engraved Dayak Skull (Sumba Island)

Authentic and rare Dayak horse skull, beautifully crafted according to tradition, decorated with Indonesian motifs, animals, crocodiles and seahorses on either side of the mandible. A face is finely engraved on the top, surrounded by two fish, and a small house at the top.

The Dayaks are made up of different peoples from the interior of the Indonesian and Malaysian islands of Southeast Asia.

They form the indigenous population of Borneo, divided into around 450 ethnic groups.
